DILAPIDATION - A.M.
SAUER confidently touts paintings that fundamentally address prevalent issues - hyper-symbolism, macro-thinking, quantum mechanics, artificial intelligence, high-spectrum analysis, predictive analytics, romance and innate human emotion, gestalt psychology, rhythmic complexity, philosophical dynamics, relations to infinity, complex reasoning structures, pattern recognition, various moral conjectures, empathetic relations, etc. ad-infinitum.
Every stroke of the brush is loaded with exponentially higher meaning than works by any other artist, living or dead.
“Let me just ask, why are your works so deeply ingrained within the grounds of intellectual control?” - Interviewer, A.M.
“The only reason we are able to keep a tiger caged is because we are more intelligent than him. He could rip our head off at any time, but we control and limit his ability to learn, to roam, his food, and his ability to socialize - we limit his intellect.” - SAUER
“So-” - A.M
“Tigers would be much more intelligent if we were much more empathetic, though, we as a species currently lack the compartmentalized empathy that is required to do so.” - SAUER
“Oh… So, why are your works worth so much?, and why don’t you have social media presence?” - A.M.
“You’re great. I hope you can read the room in the future. Responding to the latter statement, would you sell diamonds at a flea market? Disgusting. Social media has devolved into a needy and dilapidated corpse of a structure that was once touted as a fundamental cornerstone of humanity. I know exactly what my paintings are worth. I fear what they will be worth in the future, when they make more sense to those who comprehend these portrayed times. Now that.. that is a scary thought.” - SAUER
“I… I’m sorry, Mr. Sauer. Why do you think your works scare people?” - A.M.
“The truth hurts. The ability to acknowledging negligence and faults is extremely rare amongst humans, because it makes them feel uncomfortable. They like to live in the dark.” - SAUER
“So, you paint these faults?” - A.M.
“Not directly, no. I paint the inevitable collective product of these aforementioned faults, which in turn, indirectly makes the viewer feel discomfort - as they subconsciously know the works reflect a critique of their negligent actions.” -SAUER
“So, you’ve stated that your paintings are heavily symbolic. Could you explain?” - A.M.
“That… That would take years to even accurately articulate. Nothing is stagnant. Let me grab another glass. You want a drink?” - SAUER
“Sure - on the rocks?” - A.M.
“And off the books.” - SAUER
